Daphnia, a genus of small planktonic crustaceans, are 0.2–5 millimetres (0.01–0.20 in) in length. Daphnia feed on algae and are common in ponds and lakes and also food for fish, frog and zooplanktons like hydra. Daphnia is widely used for experiments to test climate change aspects.
